Salisbury International Arts Festival appointment of Chairperson

Salisbury International Arts Festival is one of the UK’s top multi arts festivals – vibrant, critically acclaimed and hugely successful both artistically and in its contribution to the local economy.

The organisation is a registered charity and operates as a company limited by guarantee and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who have legal duties and responsibilities as trustees.

The role:

  • Working with the Board and senior staff to agree objectives and strategy
  • Chairing board meetings
  • Hosting events (for Patrons, sponsors)
  • Being the Festival’s champion with stakeholders
  • Raising the Festival’s profile at every opportunity
  • Adding weight to the Festival’s fundraising efforts

The person:

  • Will have integrity, intelligence and a strong record of achievement
  • Be able to network/operate at the highest levels
  • Be passionate about the arts
  • Be confident in working with a volunteer board
  • Be familiar with good governance practices
  • Be able to give sufficient time to support the Festival
