Festival Window Displays – Winners announced!

As the Festival draws to a close with an almighty bang this Saturday night with our annual Festival Finale the winners from our hotly contested Window Display Competition have been announced!
The Grand Prize winner this year is Splash of Colour on Fisherton Street, whose beautiful plates are decorated with Festival events, including a lovely one of Mowgli from The Jungle Book. Runners up were Floral Expressions in Wilton and Gullicks Florists in Salisbury – both put in great imagination, thought and hard work into their displays.
The Competition was judged by Maria Bota, Festival Director, who said:
I would like to thank all the participating shops in our Festival Window Display Competition. All the displays added a huge amount to the profile of the Festival and we are very grateful. I applaud the imagination and creativity of all our participants and look forward to seeing what they will do with next year’s Festival themes, which will be revealed in December.
The Salisbury Festival Window Display competition is run every year and challenges local shops in Salisbury to make and create a display inspired by the Festival – taking either the Festival’s themes or the Festival’s colour scheme as a starting point.
Eleven shops took part in this year’s competition; eight in Salisbury city centre and three in Wilton. In addition to the winners, these were The India Shop, Anokhi, Traveller’s World, Tourist Information Centre, Shoon, HR Tribbeck & Son, West Street Deli in Wilton and Wilton Hardware.
