Salisbury Food & Drink Festival 2010

Sunday 19 September 2010 sees the seventh Salisbury Food & Drink Festival taking place in the Market Square, Salisbury. Over 70 stall holders will display their wares in a feast of local produce ranging from sausages to cider, sweets to preserves.

The Festival is open from 10am - 5pm and in addition to the food and drink treats on offer; don’t miss the hotly contested waiters’ race with entrants from a variety of Salisbury’s favourite restaurants. There will also be cookery demonstrations from local chefs including the highly popular Jeff the Chef.

Last year we introduced events throughout the preceding week and they are even more abundant in 2010. Look out for the Food and Drink Brochure and online for a list of Festival Feasts for £10. Local restaurants, cafés and pubs will open their doors with a huge range of fabulous dishes and delicacies and all for under £10!

There will be plenty to keep the children entertained with street theatre and live music. A variety of young people’s activities and workshops will also be on offer in a dedicated marquee.

Back by popular demand is the Neal’s Yard Herb Walk, first run for us during the Salisbury International Arts Festival. Look out for all the hidden herbal treasures that are on your doorstep.

To celebrate the Food & Drink Festival, Shaw Trust and Salisbury International Arts Festival are asking people across the city to hold dinner parties from Monday 13 September until Sunday 19 September as part of Salisbury’s Biggest Ever Dinner Party. Shaw Trust is a horticultural Project that supports disabled and disadvantaged people to gain confidence and live more independently. Salisbury International Arts Festival works with young and disadvantaged people to develop their talents, skills and creativity. By hosting or attending a dinner party you'll be helping local people to flourish.Log on to www.dinner4good.com/Salisbury to find out details of how to get involved and raise money for these two great charities.
