The Festival is delighted to announce that it has secured continued Arts Council England funding for 2012/13 – 2014/15. The Festival has been successful under the new scheme of National Portfolio Funding, which replaces the ‘Regularly Funded Organisation’ system.
The Festival will receive standstill funding of £173,401 in 2012, followed by £177,389 in 2013 and £182,001 in 2014 to continue to present arts events of the highest quality in the very special locations the region offers. The funds are a great testament to the quality of the work developed over many years with long term support from Friends Life, local businesses and donors.
Laura Phillips, chairman of the trustees says: ‘The Festival would not take place without the support of many; we are delighted that the Arts Council’s confidence in us has been rewarded with continued funding so we are able to present the finest world class events to the region, and the country. This support from the Arts Council will also ensure we will continue to deliver our exciting learning and participation programme, working with disadvantaged communities and young people across Wiltshire and the wider region.’
Salisbury International Arts Festival delivers an economic benefit of £3 million annually, secures £1 million in media profile for the region, brings in attendances totaling 60,000 to over 150 multi-artform events, commissions new work, leads an innovative learning and participation programme that enables over 7,000 children and young people to connect with creative projects, invites 23,000 people to free events and celebrates the region as a place to live, work and visit.
The Festival has worked hard to secure its future, has won many awards, from Tourism to Arts and Business, and has recently signed The Telegraph Media Group as its national media partner and South West Trains as its travel partner.
The success of the Festival over the past years is a testament to the hard work and dedication of many people, especially our Board of Trustees, Festival Friends and volunteers, who donate over 3,000 hours to the Festival. We also attract strong support from the local business community with whom we work in partnership to deliver strong business focused outcomes for their business and the region.
Our mission is to make moments which will inspire, entertain and transform people’s lives. We look forward to working closely with the Arts Council and our major partners to ensure the Festival continues to flourish.
