Free Opening Night - Zic Zazou

Genre: Outdoor
Origin: France/UK
Location: Salisbury Market Place
Tickets: Free
Dates: Friday 21 May 20:00

Zic ZazouJoin us for our spectacular free opening night. Perfect for all ages, Zic Zazou create mayhem on a Kiosque (bandstand) that won't stand still!

The bandstand, abandoned by the circus in Salisbury's Market Place, is giving itself the airs of a music box or carousel and takes matters into its own hands. Hilarious and unpredictable, watch out for the runaway bandstand as it casts off its mooring ropes and transports the musicians and the audience on a crazy and joyous voyage.
Zic Zazou combine French eccentricity with theatrical street music in their incredible self-propelled 'Kiosque' - a roving traditional circular bandstand complete with exhilarating party band, pyrotechnics and special effects.

On the evening, don't forget to look up, as we have other magical treats in store that will take to the skies...
On the ground a new sculpture will be unveiled, created by local company QinetiQ's engineering apprentices as part of their award-winning creative programme with the Festival and sculptor Charlotte Moreton.

Also, during the evening, The Farrant Singers will perform in the market square.

There will be no parking in the Market Place on the day, so please use other city centre car parks.
