About Our Learning and Participation Programme
Innovation and creativity are central to the work of Salisbury International Arts Festival. The Festival transforms thousands of lives every year, whether for a few hours or as part of sustained projects - inspiring, entrancing and developing our communities. We aim to inspire our audiences to explore, enjoy and develop their own talents and our learning and participation programme is embedded at the heart of this work.
You can find out more about some of our current and recent projects on other pages in this section.
OUR VALUES
We are committed to delivering an accessible and inclusive programme that:
- widens participation, develops engagement and ownership of the Festival in our region
- puts cultural learning and inclusion at the core of what we do
- offers compelling learning experiences for a wide range of people
- reflects the wider values of the Festival in being inspiring, imaginative, diverse, creative, welcoming, entertaining and world-class.
ENGAGING WITH OUR AUDIENCES
We are committed to involving people who live in our region, and to working with them to identify and listen to what they need. We will continue to build sustainable relationships with communities and widen the range of audiences who engage with the Festival.
Our current focus is on continuing to create more opportunities for people to take part, through:
- projects and activities which enable different generations to come together to celebrate, learn and create together
- projects involving those who may have less access to arts opportunities as a result of social exclusion or isolation
- involving young people in planning, and supporting them to take the lead
- developing a year-round participatory programme
- supporting our volunteers by developing the professionalism of our programme.
