Salisbury International Art Festival

The Avon 2009

If you have seen The Dragonfly and The Mallow, which grace the A303 at Solstice Park, you'll be interested to hear that this year's project between Salisbury International Arts Festival and QinetiQ is well underway.

Salisbury International Arts Festival, Solstice Park, Living River and artist Charlotte Moreton are currently working with 13 3rd year apprentices from QinetiQ at MoD Boscombe Down, to create the third in a series of public art sculptures called The Avon.

The Avon, a 30ft long sculpture, represents the River Avon as it meanders from Stonehenge to Salisbury Cathedral, by-passing MoD Boscombe Down and Old Sarum on the way.
