Each year Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival offers an exciting and varied programme of circus, music, film, comedy, theatre, dance, literature and visual arts, plus a family programme for all ages. Over 16 days Salisbury comes alive with artistic encounters of all kinds, throwing open its doors to more than 230 experiences in 2016 and welcoming an audience of over 63,000 to the city.
Over the course of the Opening Weekend visitors can enjoy City Encounters, a series of free outdoor events encompassing street theatre, dance, circus, music and other activities. This busy programme ensures that as many people as possible can access the amazing art that the Festival has to offer.
An important part of the Festival is our Learning and Participation programme, which runs a number of projects providing exciting, and at times life changing opportunities for disadvantaged groups such as young carers, looked-after children and those in hospital. We also work with local schools and older people.
