On Sunday 18 September 2016 Salisbury's Market Square was filled to the brim with over 80 stall holders selling delicious local and international foods. The annual programme included free food-related activities for children and families, chef demonstrations, street theatre, live music and, of course, the ever popular beer tent.
Visitors could also sit back and relax to the laid-back sounds of acoustic musicians and singer songwriters from Salisbury Arts Centre’s Live Lunch sessions. With the sun shining and the beer tent right next door, for many this was the perfect way to spend a Sunday.
Those with kids could entertain them with a series of fun, free food contests by Wacky Nation. The day's gripping sporting events included the World Cheese Fling and the UK Veg Throwing Championship.
The day continued with cookery demonstrations by Festival favourites Peter Vaughan, Jeff the Chef and MasterChef's Juanita Hennessey. The trio wowed the crowd with their culinary delights and offered generous samples of their cooking.
And if all this wasn't enough, street theatre company Reckless Invention provided a dinner service delight in the form of their Comedy Waiters. Slapstick, circus tricks and lively dance routines brought pure joy to the Market Square and had the crowds roaring with laughter.
