Local solicitors’ firm Trethowans is sponsoring a high profile event within Salisbury Festival this year.
Trethowans is helping to support an appearance by John Simpson at Salisbury Playhouse on Friday 2 June, 12pm. The most distinguished foreign correspondent of our time will be discussing his experience reporting across the globe from pivotal moments in history, all documented in his book We Chose to Speak of War and Strife.
With a journalistic career spanning 50 years, John Simpson has cemented himself as a household name. Despite bureaucratic, political and violent obstacles he continued to uncover the latest news stories from the troubled world beyond the UK and reported them by whatever means possible.
Over the last 150 years, Trethowans has established itself as a leading law firm in the South of England providing a comprehensive range of services for businesses and individual clients. The UK Top 150 law firm is based in London with offices in Southampton, Salisbury, Poole and Winchester.
Elizabeth Webbe, Partner at Trethowans said “We’re delighted to be returning to the Festival this year, it’s a real highlight of the Wiltshire events calendar. The programme always caters for everyone and it’s fantastic to see such distinguished speakers such as John Simpson in the city.
Festival Director Toby Smith said: We are pleased to be continuing our partnership with Trethowans, as once again they generously support the Festival with their sponsorship of John Simpson’s talk at Salisbury Playhouse. Promising a riveting insight into his unmatched career as a journalist reporting from the front line of conflicts spanning decades, Simpson’s Festival appearance will undoubtedly be a highlight of the 2017 programme.”
